Deemouth Artist Studios Torry (DAST) was founded and is managed by Peter Baxter and Allan Watson.
Before founding Deemouth, Peter and Allan helped realise a number of large scale temporary public artworks for LOOK AGAIN Festival commissions including: ASSEMBLE (The Brutalist Playground); JASON NELSON (The Listener); JAMES RIGLER (A House in the Woods) and MORAG MYERSCOUGH (Love at First Sight). They have also worked with organisations such as Peacock Visual Arts, WASPS & Northern Arts Club to create or improve studio and exhibition spaces.
More recently, they have helped convert an old barn into a bespoke event space at Backhouse Rossie in Fife.
Allan & Peter also provide exhibition support services to both tenants and non-tenants: Exhibition planning, construction of plinths, presentation/display units, tables, shelving systems etc. Preparation of exhibition space and installation of artworks - from hanging artworks on the wall to building walls!
