Sew a Quilted Waistcoat

Join Rachel of Hackley Design Studio and Helen of Helen Ruth Scarves for a two day weekend workshop to sew a quilted waistcoat. Following the Women’s Everyday Waistcoat pattern from The New Craft House you shall be guided through the whole process from choosing your size, cutting pattern pieces, assembling and finishing your garment. We shall be following the women’s version of this pattern but if you require the men’s version please advise at time of booking.

This workshop is suitable for confident beginners and above.

What is provided?

The pattern and wadding shall be provided. All sewing tools and equipment required will be available for use at the studio.

What do I need to bring?

Participants must bring their own sewing machine, suitable fabric and lining fabric, bias binding and thread. Please note a detailed email shall be provided once booking is confirmed with full details of fabric requirements etc. If you wish to attend and are unable to bring a machine of your own please contact us at Hackleydesignstudio@gmail.com as we may be able to arrange for one to be available for use.

Techniques covered

Pattern sizing and cutting, fabric cutting, basic machine quilting, pocket construction, garment assembly, seam finishing and bias binding.

You shall leave the workshop with a completed waistcoat to add to your wardrobe.
